In honor of his legacy and his unwavering belief in the power of education, the family of William "Bill" Rouselle wishes to support an organization that was close to his heart: Black Education for New Orleans (BE NOLA). Mr. Rouselle's commitment to the community was evident in his tireless work since Hurricane Katrina. His efforts were instrumental in ensuring citizen participation in the rebuilding of New Orleans Public Schools.
BE NOLA is rightfully committed to strengthening Black education in New Orleans. This cause aligns perfectly with Mr. Rouselle’s vision and values, as he deeply believed in the mission of empowering and uplifting our community through education and civic engagement.
A Founding Board Member of BE NOLA, Mr. Rouselle focused on the critical importance of education content and its role in shaping future generations. He believed that alongside academic skills, schools must prioritize transferring culture and values. Mr. Rouselle was passionate about ensuring Black children know their history, understand their place in the world, and recognize their responsibilities to the community. Donations received will be used to support the advocacy and curriculum work that Mr. Rouselle was always so passionate about.
